Quick Start Guides
The Quick Start Guides are short guides to help you get started creating and updating contacts, lists, and sending email campaigns using the VerticalResponse REST API.
A contact is someone who is to receive emails or social media campaign posts. A contact is uniquely identified by their email address while optional information such as their name, address, etc. can also be stored. In addition to these basic fields, up to 20 custom fields can also be stored for the contact (e.g. application specific information).This quick start guide will help you create a new contact in VR and retrieve details about the given contact.
A list is a named collection of contacts which allows them to be organized and partitioned. For example, a list called “New Customers” could be created and used to send email campaigns for easy onboarding. Another list called “Existing Customers” could be used to send email campaigns to keep these customers more engaged. As such, creating a list is often one of the first steps to perform in a campaign. Contacts can then be added to a list as explained in the guide.
The quick start guide will help you create a new list, add a contact to the list, and retrive details about a given list.
Messages are emails or social campaigns sent to lists of contacts. Sending an email to campaign recipients is a two‑step process involving the creation of the email itself, followed by a separate operation called a launch, to send that email to one or more lists.
